Daily Gaming Tidbits 05/27/09

  • Bioshock 2 will be released on Nov 2nd, 2009 in North America. Our European friends will get it a few days earlier on Oct 30th.
  • The E3 site for Brutal Legend  is up. Go there to win a real version of the Tenacious-D guitar.
  • Guitar Hero 5 will be released September 1st. That’s a bit earlier than the normal Halloween release Activision has maintained in the past. I’m assuming it’s to get the jump on The Beatles: Rock Band which comes out on September 9th.
  • The Kojima teaser site countdown ended yesterday. Did we find out what the next game will be? Nope. But we did get a hint. Now, the site flashes an image of Big Boss along with a new countdown that is set to end at 3p.m. PDT on Sunday, May 31.
  • The MMO developer 38 Studios (owned by baseball player Curt Schilling) has purchased Big Huge Games from THQ. This is good news for me as I’m a fan of Big Huge Games and was going to hate to see them close up shop.
  • Disney Interactive Studios announced a new Pirates of the Caribbean game. This one will be an action-RPG (it’s about time!) called Pirates of the Caribbean: Armada of the Damned. It’s being developed by Propaganda Games (the folks who brought us Turok) & will be set prior to the movies. Look for it to hit consoles & PC in 2010.
