TV News: Family Guy, Simpsons, etc…
Family Guy is going “Next Generation”. An episode set to air next month entitled ‘Not All Dags Go To Heaven’ will reunited the cast from Star Trek: The Next Generation. Patrick Stewart, Levar Burton, Gates McFadden, Michael Dorn, Wil Wheaton, Denise Crosby, Marina Sirtis, Brent Spiner and Jonathan Frakes will all reprise their roles. The story involves Stewie getting mad that he wasn’t able to ask all his questions at a local con, so, he builds a teleporter & transports the cast to his bedroom so they can spend the day together.
The Simpsons has added 2 more years to their run, making it the longest running primetime TV program in US history. Fox’s announcement today pushed The Simpsons passed Gunsmoke for the record-breaking run. If it isn’t renewed after this, it will have 493 episodes.
With the success of the CW’s recent reboot of 90210, the 90’s evening soap Melrose Place is up next for the revival. A pilot order has gone out with Oscar winner Davis Guggenheim (An Inconvenient Truth) Set to direct.
Jerry Seinfeld fans, rejoice! He is coming back to TV, reteaming with NBC. Is it another sitcom? Nope. Will any other cast members from ‘Seinfeld’ be back? It’s a reality show, so anything is possible. The show is called “The Marriage Ref”. Basically it will have guests like celebrities, sports personalities, etc… judging couples in the middle of marital issues & giving them advise on how to resolve their issues. I didn’t see anything on when it will air, but I’m assuming it will be on before the end of the year.
