Louisiana: Known For Cajun Food & Now…Pink Dolphins?

Rare Pink Bottlenose Dolphin Found In Lake In LA, USA

Pink Bottlenose Dolphin Found In Lake In LA, USA

If you’re planning a trip to Louisiana, you might want to swing by Lake Calcasieu. They have a pink dolphin. No, that picture isn’t fake. It’s the real deal. Technically, the dolphin is an albino Bottlenosed Dolphin. I believe this is the only one known to exist. Albinism is a hereditary pigment disorder that can affect all species. What makes this dolphin so striking is that when one thinks of albinism, they think white or translucent skin. But this one, as you can see from the pic, is bright pink. Initially, the dolphin was discovered by a charter boat captain, Erik Rue. He has since then seen the dolphin 40 or 50 times. Now, people are going there to see the “attraction”. Conversationalists are warning not to tamper to much, to look from a distance. How long do you think it will be before the dolphin ends up in Sea World? I picked this story up off Twitter. Thanks to Tyler Mason for Tweeting it.
