In the continuing transition of the Halo franchise from Bungie to Microsoft, a new web portal has been opened. Announced this morning, Halo Waypoint will become your source for all things Halo. From early to special products to across the board player tracking (in-game and out-of-game accomplishments related to Halo), all your Halo needs will be found there. It’s scheduled to go live this fall, but you can follow them on Twitter now.
Next up is Halo Legends, a series of anime short films set in the Halo universe (this is what Microsoft’s new 343 Studios is working on). With this being a new medium for the franchise, Microsoft has partnered up with anime pioneer Shinji Aramaki, director of Appleseed & Appleseed EX Machina, Mamoru Oshii, director of Ghost in the Shell movies, with additional production from Joseph Chou of J-Spec Pictures. It’ll be a compliation of short films that will cover a bunch of different times & characters in the Halo universe.
There is supposed to ba a panel on this at the San Diego Comic Con tonight, so hopefully I will have some more info (and some screens) tonight.
