Daily Gaming Tidbits 08/19/09

  • Remember that Beatles version of SingStar I mentioned yesterday? Apparently it was a misunderstood rumor that blew around like wildfire. Joystiq spoke to Harmonix & apparently it was a hypothetical microphone bundle, not a SingStar game…
  • GAMESCON: A LocoRoco spin off was announced. Titled LocoRoco Midnight Carnival, it’s being released digitally on the PSN for the PSP. It will include co-op play, 16 stages, 2 mini games, & 3 bonus stages…
  • The game adaption of the upcoming Clash of the Titans remake is being handled by Namco Bandai. Look for it to release around the same time as the film…
  • Frima Studios will be bringing Zombie Tycoon to the PSP this fall. It’s sort of a Zombie RTS game that will be a digital download only on the PSN. Hit the link for more info…
  • Looks like Capcom vs EA early next year as Capcom’s Dark Voidicon will be launching on January 12th…the same day that Army of Two: The 40th Dayicon will release. I would say my money is on Army of Two, but I don’t know if that’s because it’s an established franchise or if it’s because I’m a fan. So I’ll refrain from picking a winner…
  • Adam Levine, frontman for the pop/rock band Maroon 5, has been added to the cast of playable characters in Activision’s upcoming Band Heroicon
  • GAMESCON: Look below for the MAG release trailer…
  • Just to clarify all the various Modern Warfare 2 beta talk: Infinity Ward has never said there would be one. They intend to do the internal beta & should the need arise after that, then a public one will be considered.
