Daily Gaming Tidbits 10/22/09

  • Want some more in-game items for Dragon Age: Origins? Bioware has revealed that there will be 3 items you can acquire by playing their flash-based tie in game, Dragon Age Journeys, that will be opened up to you in Origins if you play while logged into your EA account…
  • Rumor has it that starting this Sunday, October 25th, Best Buy will be doing a buy 2, get 1 free sale on all games $59.99 or less. If that holds true, this might be a good time to grab some of the recent releases like ODST, Borderlands, Brutal Legend, Uncharted 2, etc… Or, maybe get a jump on the Christmas shopping…
  • Looks like the delayed platformer Trine will finally hit the PSN today. Initially, it was supposed to launch months ago along side the PC release…
  • Look below for the TGS 09 trailer for the next Kingdom Hearts game, subtitled Birth By Sleep for the PSP. I don’t know if it’s the background music or just the way the Japanese language is interpreted through my ears, but the melodrama in this trailer is just plain overwhelming. It looks great, but it’s beginning to seem more & more like a soap opera…
  • It’s been assumed for awhile now, but the rumors are even stronger these days that Fable III will not only support Natal, but incorporate micro-transactions as well…
  • Wanna know a bit more about the Uncharted universe prior to Drake’s Fortune? Check out Uncharted: Eye of Indra, a four-issue motion comic prequel that should be hitting the PSN today…
  • The Microsoft Store opened today in Scottsdale, AZ. Since that’s local for me, I’ll probably be heading over there in the next day or two. One little tidbit that I found completely awesome is on-site Xbox 360 repair. I don’t have all the details yet, but from what I gather, basic repairs can be done right there at the store. I’ll try to get a full spread on the store in another day or two…
  • Capcom announced Ghouls ‘n Ghosts: Gold Knights for the iPhone. I’m not quite sold on it though since the controls will be with a virtual D-Pad, similar to Mega Man 2. Granted, I can’t say for sure since I have yet to play it, but it just sounds terribly awkward considering the precision old school platformers require…
  • As with previous titles in the franchise, older saves from the other two PS3 Ratchet & Clank games will unlock bonuses in the new game, A Crack in Time. No major weapons or anything, but they will unlock a discount when visiting the weapons vendor along with some new customizing options…
  • Cable will join Psylocke & Carnage as DLC for Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2
