XBLA Deal Of The Week: Fable

Microsoft’s Major Nelson announced this week’s “Deal of the Week’. The XBOX Original game ‘Fable‘ is being reduced from 1200 MP to 800 MP. For those of you who missed it, Fable came out back in September of 2004. Created by Peter Molyneux, you play the role of an orphaned boy. As you grow up, you’re choices will guide you to being a hero or a villain (or somewhere in between). This story revolves around your quest to discover who burned down your childhood home & killed your family. This game is what first introduced me to Microsoft’s big black box. I was happy with my PS2 up until that point. But the amount of control you were supposed to have in Fable was enough to make me get an XBOX. Unfortunately, the game had a lot more hype than what you really got, but I was still happy with it none-the-less. Fable 2 was released for the XBOX 360 in March of 2008. It delivered on many of the promises that Peter Molyneux had given for the original. For many (myself included), Fable 2 was Game of the Year for 2008. If you haven’t played Fable, this is a worthwhile purchase.
