So, I’m a bit behind in posting this due to the holiday break & the fact that I’m just a one-man show here. But, this is certainly information that all of you who plan to play Mass Effect 2 on PC will need to know. All-in-all, it looks pretty average. You won’t need anything high end to run it but your netbook will no doubt choke on it. The key to the below info is the DRM, or lack there of. EA is sure to make many fans very happy by opting to not throw some of the obscene leashes as seen on some of their earlier titles…
Digital Rights Management (DRM) – The boxed/retail PC version of Mass Effect 2 will use only a basic disk check and it will not require online authentication. This is the same method as Dragon Age: Origins. Digital versions will use the retailers protection system.
PC MINIMUM System Requirements
PC RECOMMENDED System Requirements
NOTES: For the best results, make sure you have the latest drivers for your video and audio cards. Laptop or mobile versions of the above supported video cards have not had extensive testing and may have driver or other performance issues. As such, they are not officially supported in Mass Effect 2. Intel and S3 video cards are not officially supported in Mass Effect 2.
My system is way past those requirements, but will probably get it on the 360 anyway.
Yeah, I tend to do much more console gaming than I do on my PC. In fact, I only play PC-only games on my computer, like Torchlight. Everything else is on a console.
