Rock Band Restock 12/29-01/05

Rock Band Restock 12/29-01/05

I missed last week’s announcement due to the holiday break I took, I’ll make up to you today with a double dose of Rock Band music goodness. First up, releasing this week (aka tomorrow on the 360 & the Wii; Sony will get everything next week) is the “exclusive” tracks that made gamers buy the retail Country Track Pack. As I’ve said in the past, I hope this isn’t a trend neither Harmonix, Neversoft, or any other music game developer embrace. I don’t want to buy a disk that has a bunch of music that I’ve already bought digitally just to get a handful of “exclusive” songs. For me, a huge supporter of the weekly music releases, it’s like a slap in the face. Anyway, enough of my tangent. Here’s the official announcement for this week:

Available on Xbox 360 and Wii (Dec. 29) and PlayStation 3 system (Jan. 7):

Alan Jackson – “Good Time”
Cross Canadian Ragweed – “Cry Lonely”
Jason Aldean – “She’s Country”
Keith Urban – “I Told You So”
Kenny Rogers – “The Gambler”
Martina McBride – “This One’s For the Girls”
Shania Twain – “Any Man of Mine”

(All tracks are original master recordings)

These tracks will be available for purchase as “Going Country Pack 02” as well as individual tracks on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 system, and as individual tracks on Wii.

Price:
$1.99 USD, £.99 UK, €1.49 EU (160 Microsoft Points for Xbox 360) per track
$10.99, £4.99 UK, €7.99 EU (880 Microsoft Points for Xbox 360) for “Going Country Pack 02”
$2.00 USD (200 Wii Points™) per track

Next week brings some of Paul McCartney’s solo work. Surprisingly, this is the first time any of his solo stuff has hit the music store. These will be playable with both the regular & Lego versions of Rock Band. Here’s the official presser:

Paul McCartney’s historic three-night musical christening of New York’s Citi Field, witnessed by 120,000-plus attendees and universally hailed as a concert experience for the ages, was immortalized Nov. 17, when Hear Music/Concord Music Group released Good Evening New York City. This momentous musical experience is available in two formats: a three-disc (two CDs and one DVD) standard edition and a four-disc (two CDs and two DVDs) deluxe version, featuring expanded packaging and a bonus DVD including McCartney’s traffic-stopping, headline-making July 15 performance on the Ed Sullivan Theater marquee.

And beginning Jan. 5, Rock Band and McCartney fans will be able to download “New York City Pack 01” in the Rock Band Music Store. McCartney’s solo debut on the Rock Band platform includes “Band on the Run (live),” “Jet (live)” and “Sing the Changes (live).” These tracks will be available Jan. 5 for the Xbox 360 and Wii and Jan. 7 for PlayStation3.

Jet (live)
Sing the Changes (live)
