Daily Gaming Tidbits 01/22/10

  • If you’re planning on picking up MAG or Mass Effect 2, then you might want to check out Toys R Us. Grab either one & you can get Valkyria Chronicles for $20. I’m not sure how long the promotion will last, but it’s a great deal if you can take advantage of it…
  • The first Assassin’s Creed 2 DLC pack has a solid release date now. The Battle of Forli will launch on January 28th for both consoles. Don’t forget the second one will be arriving sometime in February…
  • According to Trixie 360, the social media head honcho for the Xbox 360: “More than 100 million songs/tracks for music games have been downloaded through Xbox LIVE – that’s over 90,000 every day!”
  • Look for Final Fantasy VIII to hit the Playstation Store on February 4th…
  • The Playstation 3 version of Just Cause 2 will have video capture support, allowing players to record the last 30 second of gameplay on the fly & automatically upload it to YouTube. There’s also a 10 minute option that you can select through the game’s menus (for walk-thru’s & such). The game launches on March 23rd…
  • Curious about how well (or not so well) the Tekken franchise has translated to the big screen? Check out the movie trailer below (Where’s Panda?)…
  • bittos+ will launch on WiiWare on Jan 25th…
  • Tetris is officially the best selling mobile game, topping 100 million paid downloads across all platforms…
  • With all the talk of how great Uncharted 2 is (my pick for Game of the Year), I’m sure you’ve searched high & low for the single player demo on the Playstation Network, right? Feeling dissappointed that it’s no where to be found? Well, stop stressing & go play something else (like  Army of Two: The 40th Day for example) until Jan 28th. Next Thursday, Sony plans to release the single player demo on the Playstation Store. For those who already have the game, look for a DLC pack to launch alongside it bring a bunch of new skins to the multiplayer mode for $4.99…
