Behemoth #3 Is Now BattleBlock Theater

I must admit, I have yet to warm up to the latest title from The Behemoth. I’ve been watching it with a weary eye for many months now & yet still can’t quite get myself to buy in. Castle Crashers was a ton of fun that also happened to benefit from launching at a time when the selection offered on XBLA was hit & miss. The Behemoth has surprised me in the past so I won’t write their new one off until I have spent some serious quality time with it. For the longest time, it didn’t have a name. Simply referred to as Game #3, we’ve seen lots of game play without any idea what the story was behind it. All that changed as of yesterday with the latest trailer from Behemoth. Officially called BattleBlock Theater, it looks to me like it’ll combine the Castle Crashers & Alien Hominid art style & humor with a story that mixes Broadway & the Roman Colosseum (I may be way off there, so feel free to correct me in the comments). I can’t say I’m completely on board yet, but I’m a lot closer now than I was this time yesterday. I haven’t heard of a solid release date yet (it should be sometime this year, maybe during Summer of Arcade again), but I hope Behemoth keeps teasing us like this a few more times between now & then…
