EA Shows Us The Future

EA released their 3rd Q Financial Report this afternoon. Typically these are full of a bunch of numbers that most of you won’t really care about. But, once you dig past that, sometimes you’ll find some interesting (& unannounced) information. First up, both APB & the new Medal of Honor title will launch this summer (read July, Aug, or Sept), with the MMO being PC only, but MoH reboot will be on the consoles, PC & the handhelds. The holidays will see Crysis 2 (for both consoles & PC), a new EA Sports Active title, the new Need For Speed game, NBA Jam, EA Sports MMA, a new Hasbro Family Game Night title & the console release of The Sims 3. Now, here’s where things get a bit more interesting. Slated for a Q1 2011 release is Dead Space 2, another Need For Speed title, a new Dragon Age title (which is also listed for the handhelds!), a new shooter from Epic Games & new entries in the Spore & Sims franchises. Initially, I thought the Dragon Age game would be just another expansion. But, seeing it listed for the handhelds has me second guessing that. Also, where the first Need For Speed game set to launch during the holidays is for the PC, consoles & handhelds, the second one will just be for the consoles & the PC. I suspect that one will be the one that Criterion is working on. Regardless, I have to say, I’m pretty excited for what EA has lined up for use during the next 14 months.
