While it’s been widely rumored for quite some time now (Ghost Recon 4 was “officially” announced last April), Ubisoft has finally spilled the beans: Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Future Soldier will be heading our way this holiday season. According to Ubi’s press release, it’ll “feature cutting-edge technology, prototype high-tech weaponry, and state-of-the-art single-player and multiplayer modes.” I love playing with new weapons & such, so hopefully this won’t be a rehash of what we’ve already seen. The big question for me will be how many of you will opt to spend your money on it considering the company it’ll be keeping during the holiday’s with titles like the Medal of Honor reboot, the next Treyarch-made Call of Duty, & Halo: Reach. Plus, there’s still all the unannounced stuff that we don’t know about (Gears 3 anyone?). Ubi also gave us some beta info, but the Sony faithful won’t be happy to hear it. Beta invites will be packed in with the Xbox 360 exclusive Splinter Cell: Conviction (releasing April 13th). In fact, the press release doesn’t even confirm which platforms the game will release on beyond the Xbox 360. Hopefully, there will be something for the Playstation 3 at some point, but as of right now, this summer’s beta will for sure be 360 only…
