Daily Gaming Tidbits 02/15/10

  • The ‘Care Package’ fix for the Xbox 360 version of Modern Warfare 2 is now available. In other news, the folks who got rid of the game because of the glitch have moved on to Mass Effect 2 & BioShock 2 and will not be picking it back up again…
  • The Halo: Reach beta is now slated to begin on May 3rd. Folks who picked up Halo 3: ODST also received a beta code for Halo: Reach. Also, there’s a new vid doc on the Xbox LIVE Marketplace
  • Uncharted 2 is getting close to the 3-million-units-sold mark…
  • PopCap’s Plants vs Zombies is now available on the iPhone. You can grab it off the App Store for $2.99. If the port is identical to the PC version, be ready to wear out your battery…
  • Speaking of the iPhone, Street Fighter IV was announced for platform. What? Yep, it’s coming to the iPhone/iTouch. Hmmm….
  • The Playstation 3 Aliens vs Predator demo has been updated to address the matchmaking issues…
  • Look for 13 new medals to be added to Uncharted 2 when the next title update (1.05) hits today…
  • Gamers looking to get their College Basketball action on this year will have one less title to pick from. EA has opted not to make NCAA Basketball 10
  • Looks like Command & Conquer: Tiberian Sun & it’s expansion, Firestorm has been made into freeware. Go here & grab your copy

  • According to SlashFilm, the less-than-stellar Darkest of Days is being turned into a film. Personally, I’m happy to see it. The concept was great & well suited to a film. The game was just executed poorly…
  • Did you notice the WiiWare demo’s are gone? No? Hmmm…maybe you should turn on your Wii a little more often. Anyway, as of January 31st, the demo’s for WiiWare have been remove. Nintendo cited their original announcement for the Japan market that said the demo program would only be for a limited time. At this point, they are going to look over the data & figure out if bringing it back would be a viable option for me…

  • Having some trouble collecting enough souls in Dante’s Inferno? Well, EA wants t help. They’ve made several Soul Packs available on the Xbox LIVE Marketplace & Playstation Network. The small one contains 1500 souls for 80 MP ($1). The medium one has 3000 souls & will set you back 160 MP ($2). Lastly, the large one will add 5000 souls to your game & will cost you 320 MP ($4).
