NRG Pick Of The Week – Guitar Hero: Metallica

As a fan of Guitar Hero & Rock Band, my first thoughts on this game weren’t good. Granted, Metallica’s music is extremely challenging. But, I hate the idea of buying new games when I could easily be just as happy with having the Metallica back catalog released as DLC. Fortunately for Activision, one taste of the demo was all it took to sell me. I guess it helps that I’m a Metallica fan, but the demo had such a sense of what it’s like to play their songs & be at their shows. If you look at the set list (see below), you’ll see it mostly favors their early stuff, so I’m assuming they are leaving most of their post-1991 catalog open for future DLC release. Not that I’m complaining, the set list that is shipping with the game is fantastic & is well worth the $50-$60. Guitar Hero: Metallica releases tomorrow, March 29th for XBOX360, PS3, PS2, & Wii.
