WiiMote Goes MultiPlatform

Yeah, I know, I’m a little late to the party. This nugget from the GDC hit the net a couple of days ago. Performance Designed Products (PDP) has put together a Wiimote-like device for the XBOX360 & PS3 called the GameTrack Freedom. At launch, which is expected Q4 2009, only the XBOX360 version will be available. The PS3 version may ship the following year. No pricing is available at this time. As for software, PDP says there are third-party games being made right now. In addition to that, PDP will have a launch game of their own called Squeeballs. It will have 11 different mini-game types, with a total of 150 challenges. My question is: How does it feel? Does it feel like a WiiMote? Personally, I don’t the the XBOX360 nor the PS3 needs a device like this. Feels like someone is trying to cash in on Nintendo’s success. What do you think?
