- 1 vs. 100 will be a game show playable on the Xbox Live Primetime service.
- It’s modeled after the popular TV game show off the same name.
- It was announced during E3 2008
- Players will compete for their share of 10,000MP (supposed to be about $125 worth given out each episode).
- They are planning to have live games on Friday & Saturday nights.
- It will be ad supported, with commercials playing during the breaks.
- Silver members will be able to play with Gold members on the same console only & they cannot win prizes.
- Just like the show, 1 person will be chosen at random to be “The One” while 100 others will be chosen to be “The MOB” (Mass Of Bodies).
- Each episode will be 2 hours, so they figure everyone in the virtual audience will have an opportunity to be apart of the MOB.
- Each session will be 14 weeks long.
- Microsoft has a team of writers creating original questions for each episode (which means no repeats).
- The questions will be given in very quick succession, so cheating will be tough.
- If the One misses a question, they are eliminated & a new One is chosen. If he/she gets the question correct, they stay on for the next question.
- The MOB will get smaller as well since they are eliminated as they miss questions.
- You can play locally with up to three other people on a single console, or join up online to form a four-person team.
- The game supports voice chat & Live Party chat.
- Chris Cashman will host the Live shows.
- There will be some extended play shows which will be fully automated.
- Both the MOB & the One are competing for the Microsoft Points.
- The MOB will be competing for a free copy of that week’s selected XBLA game. It’s awarded to the top three point scorers each round and anyone who makes it into the last 10 MOB members standing.
- If you take part in the extended play sessions, you will get a raffel ticket for the once-a-season drawing which will have Zunes & other electronics as prizes.
