Daily Gaming Tidbits 05/11/09

 

  • Kotaku is reporting that the PC version of Street Fighter IV will come in 2 flavors. The first one has the game & a Mad Catz FightPad for $60. The second one will be just the game for $40. Both versions release on July 7th, but the Mad Catz bundle won’t be available in stores in Europe or Australasia. That means for them it’s an online-only buy.
  • The new Game Informer will have "First Look" at Modern Warfare 2 http://bit.ly/V7RMu
  • EidosIan Livingstone has confirmed many sequels for many of their top franchises. The list includes Hitman, Kane & Lynch, Tomb Raider, Deus Ex, & Just Cause.
  • Speaking of Eidos, they just made Thi4f (read: Thief 4) official.
  • On Xbox Live, there is a short vignette on the upcoming Fable 2 DLC called See The Future. Peter Molyneux discusses the contents of See The Future & in the process, confirms that more DLC is in the works. He stated that we should be hearing about it real soon. My guess, he means E3 soon.
  • Sony plans to put on a Live God of War III stage demonstration at E3. I’m not sure what that will entail though. I’ll be interesting to see what they have planned.
  • This week’s Xbox LIVE Deal of the Week is Brain Challenge. Gold members will be able to get it for 50% (400MP) off all week. For more info & to add it to your queue, go here.
  • This Wednesday’s XBLA Releases will be Star Trek: D-A-C & Texas Cheat ‘Em. Both will run you 800MP ($10).
  • Tripwire Interactive announce Red Orchestra: Heroes of Stalingrad today.  It’s the sequel to the hit PC title Red Orchestra: Ostfront 41-45.
  • Pearl Jam is going to allow the fans to vote on a set list of their songs to be released on Rock Band. The press release doesn’t indicate if this will be for a DLC pack or a stand alone project (like Guitar Hero: Metallica).
  • Tony Hawk tweeted this today: May 15 all will be revealed about our new game (dropping this year). I have been harboring the secret long enough. http://tinyurl.com/c2hes4
  • A partial set list for The Beatles: Rock Band will be announced at E3.
