Daily TV/Movie Tidbits 05/11/09

• The new Star Trek film has had a fantastic opening weekend, bringing in $72.5 million on approximately 7,400 screens. I’m guessing a sequel is pretty much a lock.
• Keanu Reeves is attached to star in a contemporary retelling of the Robert Louis Stevenson classic The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde for Universal Pictures.
• The Green Lantern film has moved from December 17th 2010 to a summer release on June 17th 2011.
• A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas is scheduled for November 5th 2010. Look for a new Kumar as Kal Penn is now working for the Obama Administration & is no longer acting.
• Robert Rodriguez has confirmed that his long in development remake of Barbarella is officially dead.
• Terminator Salvation will have 30-40 minutes of deleted scenes on the eventual Blu-Ray/DVD release according to director McG.
