The First Sherlock Holmes Trailer

I must admit, when I first heard about this film, I had my doubts. I just couldn’t picture Robert Downey Jr as Sherlock Holmes. After seeing the trailer though, if the film is as good as it looks, I will never doubt Downey again. Ever.

I didn’t know they were making a film, but that would kinda explain the Holmes game!

I love the original Holmes renditions and the books and I feel that having an American Holmes, especially Downey is going to ruin it. I’d be happy to be convinced otherwise though!

Holy hell, I take that back, the film’s going to suck completely. I didn’t realise Guy Ritchie was the director.

Whoever decided to allow him to ruin Sherlock Holmes has a lot to answer for..

I don’t know about that. The trailer looks great, so I’ll give Guy the benefit of the doubt.

      • Cat says:

Have you ever watched a Guy Ritchie film?

And really, Sherlock Holmes shouldn’t have explosions and all that. He’s much more a quiet guy with observational skills.

        A bit like The Mentalist.

Yeah, some were good, some sucked. I’ll still give it a shot though. And yes, your right, Holmes shouldn’t have explosions. But, I’m not convinced that they can sell a traditional Holmes film. Not with today’s wham bam audience.

          • Cat says:

See, I would’ve agreed with you up until The Mentalist started. Although, I guess you’re right, TM is a TV show and not a film..

  3. [...] but you will see some new bits if you pay attention. If you missed the first trailer, I have it here, but keep in mind the presentation isn’t real good as I posted it when I had my old theme [...]
