Daily Gaming Tidbits 06/23/09

Congratulations are in order for the team over at The Behemoth. Castle Crashers is now the fastest growing XBLA game ever, topping the one million players mark yesterday! So, what happens when you finish Mass Effect Galaxy for the iPhone/iTouch? "Your reward for completing the game is already waiting for you in Mass Effect 2." Hmmm… Bookmark It Hide Sites

New Screens: Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker

Hey all. I’m trying to get back to my normal routine now that E3 & my birthday is done. I still have a lot of other E3 stuff to post, but I’m also going to start posting current news as well. In addition, I hope to have a Ghostbusters review ready by this weekend (I have to wait for the game to release so I can buy it). Anyway, to kick things off, I have 3 new screenshots for Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker. These screens don’t do it for me, so hopefully we get some better ones soon. Since I don’t like the screen, I give you the E309 trailer as well… Bookmark It Hide...

Preview: The Saboteur

The Saboteur just hit my radar right around the end of March, beginning of April when I began following the development team at Pandemic on Twitter (I’m a fan of Mercenaries & the Battlefront series). Throughout the weeks leading up to E3 I caught screenshots & trailers & the plot synopsis. The game definitely had my attention now, so at E3 I wandered up to their private meeting room to get a look at the game first hand. Bookmark It Hide Sites

E3 First Look: The Beatles: Rock Band

I’m not a Beatles fan. Sure, I like some of their songs, but I can’t be classified as a fan. I have never bought a Beatles album either. I grew up with Hair Metal, so The Beatles were too “classic” for me. I also wasn’t a music game fan. I didn’t jump on the Guitar Hero band wagon. When Rock Band first released, I didn’t jump on that either. In fact I didn’t even start seriously thinking about getting Rock Band until just this past holiday season when I was trying to find games we could play as a family. We found a killer deal at Toys R Us on the Rock Band 2 Special Edition, so...

E3 Preview: The Legend Of Zelda: Spirit Tracks

As a guy who doesn’t go many places where I have time to play games, I didn’t really pay much attention to Spirit Tracks when it was announced at this years GDC. Don’t get me wrong, I knew what it was, just didn’t really care too much as I never had time to play too many handheld games. I didn’t play the last Zelda DS title (Phantom Hourglass) so I didn’t think this one would be much different. I actually didn’t really have any plans to check it out at E3. But, I found I had some time to kill & they were handing out a nifty Special Edition Legend of Zelda stylus, so I thought,...

E3 Hands On Preview: Left 4 Dead 2

During the Microsoft Press Briefing for E3, a surprising trailer was shown that we didn’t realize was even in development, let alone would be shown at the conference. It took us a few seconds to realize it was a sequel to one of the best games released last year. Yes, Left 4 Dead 2 is coming our way this November! While at the conference, I managed to get some hands-on time with Valve’s zombiefest & discovered some cool new additions to the franchise. Bookmark It Hide Sites

My Impressions: EA Press Conference

The EA Press Briefing was the 2nd of the 5 we attended. I had high hopes for this as EA is bringing me several of my most anticipated titles this year (Army of Two: The 40th Day, The Sabatour, Mass Effect 2, Dragon Age: Origins). Was I satisfied? Well, partly… Bookmark It Hide Sites

SquareEnix Announces Final Fantasy XIV

As most of you are already aware, SquareEnix announced Final Fantasy XIV at the Sony Press Conference last Tuesday. This wil be an all new MMO title in the same vein as the aging Final Fantasy XI. It will get a simultaneous (Japanese, English, German, French) worldwide release for both the Playstation 3 & Windows. Beyond a 2010 target release date, we don’t have anything else except for this trailer: Bookmark It Hide Sites

Bite-Size E3 Chunks

To be honest, I had never heard of Gamer Grub before E3. When I had heard they were on the show floor, I tracked them down to try it as I wasn’t sold on the product. The Pizza flavor was surprisingly good! If their retailers were a bit closer to my house, I would pick up a little of each flavor & do a review on it. Best thing I can say at this point is the Pizza flavor is tasty. If pizza isn’t for you, they have 3 others: PB&J, Wasabi, & Chocolate. At some point in the next few weeks, I’ll try to get a selection of flavors together review them for you. Bookmark It Hide...

PSP Go Is A ‘Go’

Since I don’t have any screen capture abilities at the moment, I have to make due with the above image. That is the PSP Go. There’s a feature on the new handheld in the June issue of Qore, which released early. I watched it myself so I can first hand confirm the following info: Bookmark It Hide Sites

Mini Pre-E3 Daily Gaming Tidbits

Sorry it’s a small update today. Ran into some last minute PC problems getting ready for the big show next week so I lost a bunch of content. I will be spending tomorrow getting all the kinks worked out & I leave Sunday morning! So, I’ll try to get a few things up tomorrow while I’m testing everything, otherwise, everything else I will be posting will be from Los Angeles! Bookmark It Hide Sites

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 E309 Villains Trailer

Saw this on GTTV last night. If you’re a comic fan or a fan of the first game, I have one word for you: WOW! I’m a big comic fan (well, used to be. Don’t have much time to keep up with them anymore). Plus, I absolutely LOVED the first game. This trailer just got me giddy all over again! I hope I get my hands on it at E3! Check it out: Bookmark It Hide Sites
