Lego Harry Potter Year 2 Screens & Vignette

Lego Harry Potter Year 2 Screens & Vignette
I’m kiind of schizophrenic when it comes to the Lego games. While I’m really into the general idea & so far, I have enjoyed what little bit I’ve played of them, there’s still just something about them that pushes me away. It seems like every time I sit down to play one, my session may last an hour at best. Then, I just get distracted & won’t pick it up again for weeks (sometimes months). I still can’t figure out what it is that I makes me lose interest. As a fan of the Harry Potter books (especially before the entire planet went bat-shit crazy over them),...

BioShock 2 Midnight Launch & Uber Edition Reveal

BioShock 2 Midnight Launch & Uber Edition Reveal
Alrighty all you Adam addicts, your ticket for your return to Rapture is almost here! Launching next week, BioShock 2 promises to show us new enemies (say hi to your Big Sister for me), take us to parts of Rapture we haven’t been to before & will give us a bit of the back story as told through the prequel-set multiplayer. Plus, the main story puts you in the shoes of a Big Daddy! One of my personal all-time favorites, BioShock was a First Person Shooter that catered to my love of the art deco 1940’s & 50’s along with providing an interesting & inventive storyline with...

General Knoxx Has A Secret In Borderlands

General Knoxx Has A Secret In Borderlands
I spent the weekend off my PC for the most part, spending some quality time with the family (& getting some quality game time in). Thus, this may not be news for some of you, as it was officially announced on Friday. The next DLC pack for Borderlands (a game I’ve just begun playing, so I should have a review for you soonish), dubbed The Secret Armory of General Knoxx, is currently in development for the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, & PC. The folks at Gearbox are touting it as being the biggest pack yet, with huge new enemies & environments along with a bunch of new missions &...

Take A ‘Limited’ Ride On Metro 2033

Take A ‘Limited’ Ride On Metro 2033
Metro 2033, a post-apocalyptic FPS set in future Moscow, has been a brightly lit beacon on my horizon ever since I saw the first set of screens back in October. There’s just something about the torn-up-future setting that appeals to me, so I’m automatically drawn to just about any game that can bring me there. Fortunately, THQ looks like they’re on track to launch a solid shooter experience. In fact, they are so confident in the quality of the title, they have put together a Limited Edition package. What’s in it? Unfortunately, not much. Futuristic warriors who grab this...

Microsoft’s Games on Demand service is adding Halo Wars ($29.99) & Dead Rising ($19.99) today… Remember the “exclusive” content that the Playstation 3 Divine Edition of Dante’s Inferno will have in it? Well, it won’t be exclusive in the strictest sense of the word. The Dark Forest DLC will be coming to the Xbox 360, for free, just like the Playstation 3 version. It just won’t be at launch… Bookmark It Hide Sites

Mass Effect 2 Launch Trailer And TV Debut

Mass Effect 2 Launch Trailer And TV Debut
One look at the below trailer & you’ll understand why the hype surrounding Mass Effect 2 is as big as the hype surrounding Modern Warfare 2 was leading up to it’s launch. Pardon the language, but this game is fucking HOT! As a gamer who’s held a love affair with role-playing games since the first Final Fantasy debuted on the NES, this is my most anticipated RPG of the year. And yes, that includes Final Fantasy XIII (a spectacular franchise in it’s own right, but has been wearing thin on me in recent years). With the launch only a few days away, the sci-fi sequel is one...

Crayon Physics is a small indie PC title that really deserves your attention. It’s a brilliant puzzler that will tax your brain, regardless of the kindergarten-esq visuals the crayons provide. The good folks at Kloonigames are celebrating the title’s 1st birthday by doing a “pay what you want” sale. That’s right, just head over here & pay any amount you feel is appropriate using PayPal. You can undercut them & only pay a penny, but seriously, this one is worth much more than that (regular price is $19.95). The sale is ongoing until Jan 15th, so you only have...

Holiday Gift Guide – The Best Of The Rest

Holiday Gift Guide – The Best Of The Rest
While I had hoped to have several more genre categories, due to time constraints, I’m going to have to combine everything. I’m just a one man show here, so it can be tough to initiate all pieces that I want to see on the site. But, there are a bunch of other games that didn’t make the other guides that should be considered. So here is the best of the rest (20 in total). Look for one more guide by the end of the week (most likely on Saturday) that will cover hardware & other gaming related items. Also look for my Best of 2009 picks sometime in the next 14 days or so along with...
