Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 3D Screenshots

I know one of these has been out for a bit & the other released yesterday, but I’ve been so busy that I missed it until this morning. These are 3D screenshots from the upcoming sequel to Marvel Ultimate Alliance. All I can say is I hope they release more of these because they look fantastic! Of course, I’m a comic fan & a fan of the first game, so that may help, but I’ve always been a sucker for the 3D screenshots. Check ‘em out & let me know what you think! Bookmark It Hide Sites

Brave: A Warrior’s Tale (PSP) Adventure Trailer

Honestly, I had never paid much attention to this game until today. After seeing this trailer, I’m going to watch it a bit more. It reminds me of the platformers that were so big last generation like Sly Cooper, Jak & Daxter, and Ratchet & Clank. After looking more into it, I guess there’s a good reason for me to think that way as it’s a remake of a PS2 game that came out in April of 2007. The below video for Brave: A Warrior’s Tale, called the Adventure Trailer, is for the PSP version of the game, but look for the title to come to Wii & XBox 360 as well on August 4th. Bookmark...

Guitar Hero 5: The Details Begin To Trickle…

Last week, Activision announced Guitar Hero 5 (see my coverage here) with almost no details beyond "the ability to drop in and out of songs and change band members, instruments and difficulty levels on the fly." Well, now we have a little more to go on. In a press release today, they said that you will indeed be able to drop in & out of games on the fly. A feature sorely lacking in both the Guitar Hero & Rock Band franchises. But, the coolest thing I said was that you can now have your band set up any way you want. If you want two drummers, you can. If you want three guitars and...

Jak And Daxter Are Making Their Return…To Last Gen Consoles?

I was a big Jak & Daxter fan all the way up to the 3rd game in the franchise. It started to get very derivative after that. So the three year hiatus that the franchise has been on was a welcomed one for me. I figured Sony would take a break & reboot the franchise on the PS3. Well, I didn’t quite get what I wanted. This morning Sony Computer Entertainment announced the return of Jak & Daxter. The only problem is it is a direct sequel & it will be coming out for the PS2 & the PSP. Called Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier, it follows the story of the previous Jak games, this...

Sony PS2 Is Now Sub-$100

For the last few days, most gaming web sites have been all abuzz, speculating about a “global announcement” Sony planned to make this morning. Everyone had a guess from a PS3 price drop to a PS2 price drop to the release date for God of War III. Well, those who went with the PS2 price drop turned out to be correct. Starting April 1st, The PS2 will be $99. With a 1900 game library & the vast majority of those titles running under $20, this is a great buy if you’re not one of the 140 million people who already own one. Not to mention the DVD capabilities. Here at my house, the PS2 at that...

NRG Pick Of The Week – Guitar Hero: Metallica

As a fan of Guitar Hero & Rock Band, my first thoughts on this game weren’t good. Granted, Metallica’s music is extremely challenging. But, I hate the idea of buying new games when I could easily be just as happy with having the Metallica back catalog released as DLC. Fortunately for Activision, one taste of the demo was all it took to sell me. I guess it helps that I’m a Metallica fan, but the demo had such a sense of what it’s like to play their songs & be at their shows. If you look at the set list (see below), you’ll see it mostly favors their early stuff, so I’m assuming...
