This week’s Playstation Store update has a lot of awesome sauce in it. First, you’ll find a Burnout Paradise bundle for a really good price as you can get the game & all the DLC for $30. EA released their 3rd Q Financial Report this afternoon. Typically these are full of a bunch of numbers that most of you won’t really care about. With Dante going to Hell tomorrow, there’s a lot of launch festivities planned for what was probably the most uniquely marketed game ever. For those out of the loop, Dante’s Inferno is an Action/Adventure game from EA’s Visceral Games based on part one of Dante Alighieri’s fourteenth-century poem, the Divine Comedy. It follows Dante’s quest to free his beloved from the Underworld. In the process, he’ll have to traverse the nine circles of Hell (Limbo, Lust, Gluttony, Greed, Wrath, Heresy, Violence, Fraud & Treason), atoning for his past sins along the way....

The popular (& obscenely cute) Lego game franchise will be adding a 3rd title in it’s Star Wars series. Dubbed The Clone Wars, this new game will draw from the Cartoon Network series of the same name, boasting a better level editor, squad command & long distance Jedi attacks. You should see all the characters from the animated series making an appearance in the game along with “some fan-favourite characters from the beloved theatrical Star Wars Saga”. While I enjoy the franchise, it’s certainly a better experience for the younger crowd. I wonder why TT Games opted...

Apparently gamers who haven’t been able to upgrade to an HD display are have been having trouble reading the many lines of text in the recently launched Mass Effect 2. There’s even a thread about it in the official forums. Bioware’s response? Well, according to Mass Effect Project Manager Michael Gamble, “it was a byproduct of enhancements to the user interface” & they can’t address it with a patch, but will keep it in mind for their future Mass Effect titles. Iron Man 2 is set to hit theaters in couple of months & along with that will be the game adaption. We haven’t seen much of it so far, but today Sega released a new trailer introducing us to War Machine. Rhody, Tony Stark’s best friend (whom we saw in the first film) is the man behind the machine who provides some much needed assistance to our tin hero. But, after checking out the trailer below, I can’t help but feel a little concern. Is it just me or does it look like it’s plagued with a “more of the same” sickness? I’m kiind of schizophrenic when it comes to the Lego games. While I’m really into the general idea & so far, I have enjoyed what little bit I’ve played of them, there’s still just something about them that pushes me away. It seems like every time I sit down to play one, my session may last an hour at best. Then, I just get distracted & won’t pick it up again for weeks (sometimes months). Microsoft announced their top Xbox LIVE activity for 2009 about a week ago so it’s only fitting Sony shows us their top downloads. While we don’t get to see what games were the most active online, we do get to see what Playstation 3 players are downloading as far as games are concerned. Personally, I’m a fan of the PSP Mini’s concept. Similar to Microsoft’s Indie & Arcade services, Mini’s offers smaller scale downloadable games for Sony’s portable system (some also support play on the Playstation 3 as well). This provides opportunities for smaller development teams to showcase their talents without having to drop millions of dollars into it. Not only do the consumers get inexpensive titles to play with, but developers can cut their teeth a bit & get the exposure they need.
