Playstation Store Refresh 01/14/10
Wow, what a flat week. Typically, there’s something in the weekly update that catches my eye & right here is where I talk a bit about it. But, there’s really not much to say when the only part of the new content that interests you is a trailer (White Knight Chronicles). Meh. I’ll just let the list speak for itself… Bookmark It Hide Sites

REMINDER: Hungering for a taste of Final Fantasy XIII? Square Enix is giving gamers an early sample with a Final Fantasy XIII bus tour. Oddly though, it’ll only be touring the San Francisco & surrounding Bay Area. Not much of a tour, but if you live in that region & want to check it out, the tour kicks off tomorrow. Follow the official Twitter feed for more details… Bookmark It Hide Sites

Playstation Store Refresh 12/22/09
No, your eyes aren’t deceiving you. Due to the holiday, the Playstation Store update is a couple of days early this week. So while the kids are sleeping & your loved one is wrapping presents, you can sit down with your Dual Shock & enjoy this week’s new content. Highlights include: Polar Panic (there’s a demo available as well, so you can push a couple of test ice blocks before you drop the $9.99), the PixelJunk 3 pack (which will bring together Racers, Monsters, & Eden for $19.99) & the Little Big Planet Pirates of the Caribbean level kit (water!!) & costume...

Digital Comic Shop Launches For PSP

Digital Comic Shop Launches For PSP
As announced back at GamesCon, Sony launched their Digital Comic Reader application a few weeks ago with their firmware 6.20 update. Initially, they handed out some free comics so users had something to test the app out with, but that was it. Now, the wait is finally over as you can now do some shopping in their Digital Comic Store. Surprisingly, there’s a lot to choose from considering this is the launch selection. Issues from big name publishers like Marvel, IDW, & Disney will set you back about $2 each (all the ones I looked at were $1.99). Below is the full selection list as of today...

Holiday Gift Guide – The Best Of The Rest

Holiday Gift Guide – The Best Of The Rest
While I had hoped to have several more genre categories, due to time constraints, I’m going to have to combine everything. I’m just a one man show here, so it can be tough to initiate all pieces that I want to see on the site. But, there are a bunch of other games that didn’t make the other guides that should be considered. So here is the best of the rest (20 in total). Look for one more guide by the end of the week (most likely on Saturday) that will cover hardware & other gaming related items. Also look for my Best of 2009 picks sometime in the next 14 days or so along with...

Spike 2009 VGA Recap

Spike 2009 VGA Recap
Ever since 2003, Spike TV has had their annual awards show honoring the best the video game industry has to offer. At the beginning, it was terrible. I remember watching the first show & it seemed more like a huge marketing campaign than an show honoring the best the industry has to offer. But over the years, Spike has honed their event toward a more respectable level. Although this year still held some pandering & over-marketing, it was still far better than their first one. So below are my thoughts on the show & the trailers (which are posted below the coverage)… Bookmark It Hide...

Finally! The latest PixelJunk title is out! Alright, I’ll admit, after watching this one develop, I can’t say the gameplay sold me. But as a fan of their previous work like Monsters, the name “PixelJunk” is enough to plop it down on my radar. Joining it is the PSOne Classic Bomberman: Party Edition along with the God of W…er…Dante’s Inferno demo. Not enough? How about new add-ons for The Saboteur, PAIN, The King of Fighters XII, Need for Speed Shift, Dragon Ball, High Velocity Bowling & inFAMOUS? Playstation Portable players won’t be left out...

Lego Harry Potter Conjures A Trailer

Lego Harry Potter Conjures A Trailer
There hasn’t been a single Lego-adaption game that I wasn’t hyped about. Star Wars, Batman, Indy & now Harry Potter. I don’t know what it is about them because to be honest, the gameplay gets a bit bland after awhile. It’s probably just a concoction of nostalgic Lego fandom with a dash of my love of the various properties blended together in a cauldron with a bit of Dragon Dung, boiled until it turns a rather violent brown color. Ok, yeah, I was probably reaching for that one. Regardless of how I say it, I’m really excited for this one & judging from the trailer,...

While this isn’t the most impressive update, it does have a few gems that may be worth a look. First up is this month’s Qore featuring The Saboteur, White Knight Chronicles, & Dark Void. Also debuting this week is Call of Duty Classic. Now, if you picked up the Prestige or Hardened Edition of Modern Warfare 2, you’re already enjoying the game that launched what is arguably the most successful FPS franchises in history. This week it’s available for the masses at $15. A couple of solid PSOne Classics, the Bayonetta demo, some free holiday costumes for Little Big Planet...

TNA Crosses The Portable Line

TNA Crosses The Portable Line
SouthPeak announced yesterday they would be bringing TNA IMPACT: Cross The Line to the DS & Playstation Portable later this winter. No more details were given, but it’s safe to assume that all the major players will be ther including names like Samoa Joe, Kurt Angle & AJ Styles. I’m curious how current it will be with the recent announcement of Hulk Hogan’s partnership with the brand. We may see the Hulkster thrown in the mic. Maybe a 6 Sides of Steel match between Hulk & Bobby Lashley? What match would you like to have in the game? Bookmark It Hide...

Playstation players, get ready to lose all sleep as Peggle is now available on the Playstation Store. That plus the new Peggle Nights DLC pack will take over your life since it’s one of those games that no matter how colorful & cutesy it looks, the addiction is as strong as anything you’ll find on your local street corner. Both Resident Evil 2 & Soul Reaver are back as digital downloads to help feed those PSOne Classics cravings.
