I woke up to news this morning that Disney had purchased Marvel Entertainment for 4 billion in cash & stock. That definitely came out of left field for me as I didn’t realize Marvel was on the market. The deal would put Disney as the owner of the entire Marvel portfolio, which amounts to over 5000 characters. At this point, the brands appear to be maintained as separate entities. Who knows how things will play out in 5 or 10 years. In specific reference to video games, current development deals such as the ones with Activision, Sega, THQ & Gazillion Entertainment will stay in place...
