The Kingdom’s Future

The Kingdom’s Future
As some of you may be aware already, I’ve accepted an offer to join the team at I’ll be assisting Jay & James in the day-to-day operations of the site as the Senior Editor. I’ll still be writing news, reviews, previews, etc…, just like I do here. The biggest change is that it won’t be here. So where does that lead Quagmire’s Kingdom? Well, it’ll be pretty much the same except the content updates will lessen dramatically. Most of my content will go to Game Focus. I’m still debating on if I want to bring in any more writers to help...

Red Dead Redemption Obey’s ‘The Law’

Red Dead Redemption Obey’s ‘The Law’
When one lists the games they are most looking forward to in 2010, it’s easy to forget about Rockstar’s western opus, Red Dead Redemption. The Red Dead Revolver sequel looks like it will be what I had hoped Gun would have been back in 2005. Basically, it’s what the offspring would be if Grand Theft Auto & the Man With No Name trilogy of spaghetti western films were to mate. Here’s the latest trailer for you below… Bookmark It Hide Sites

Holiday Gift Guide – RPGs

Holiday Gift Guide – RPGs
To be honest, not a lot of RPGs caught my attention this year. There have been a couple of stand-outs along with one RPG/FPS hybrid, but that’s about it. If you’re unfamiliar with the term “RPG”, it’s short for Role Playing Game. These games, which originate from table-top games like Dungeons & Dragons, allow for the player to immerse themselves in a role they create. With the focus on story driven character development, RPGs typically have robust character creators to allow you to choose anything & everything, from eye color to character class to the even...

The Onion Reveals Modern Warfare 3

The Onion Reveals Modern Warfare 3
The folks at The Onion (a satirical news network that will take on just about anything if it can be funny) has now jumped on all the Modern Warfare 2 hype. In the below world exclusive piece, they reveal the details behind Modern Warfare 3, spoiling the various mission types & the real world detail that will be found in the game. The question is, did Infinity Ward put too much realism into it? Nah, realism is what every hardcore l33t gamer is looking for, right? If you thought you put in a lot of time in the previous games, wait until you fire this baby up. If everything follows the normal...

The Return!

The Return!
I’m sorry & thank you……………… I know, that’s a bit of an abrupt way to begin my first post in a month. In fact, I’ve been thinking about this piece for the last 4 days, trying to figure out exactly what to say. I had many ideas, but only those 5 words really stuck out & actually meant anything to me. I wanted to apologize to everyone. Even though I understand that I can’t completly own everything that has happened, I still felt throughout the last 4 weeks that I let a lot of people down. The readership on this site was expanding...

The Guild – Date My Avatar Video

The Guild – Date My Avatar Video
For those who haven’t seen it yet, here is the music video for Do You Wanna Date My Avatar by the cast of The Guild. The Guild is a comedic web series written by series star Felicia Day about MMO players (guildmates, of course) & their real lives as affected by their gaming habits. It started with a cult following on the web, but it didn’t take Microsoft long to pick them up. Now, the (free) episodes can be seen on your Xbox 360, Zune, or on YouTube. Season 3 should be airing soon & as a way to promote it at this years ComicCon, they released this music video. Check...

Make A Wish Bankrupt?

You remember as a kid when we would dream of having a magic genie all for ourselves? I know I used to walk home from school sometimes day dreaming about finding a magic lamp on the side of the road (don’t lie, I know you did). What was the first thing you would wish for? Unlimited wishes of course! Check this video out (below). This cracked me up & made me think of thos times I spent dreaming about that lamp. One of our VIP members at 360Junkies posted it on the forum. Just to be clear in case anyone thinks otherwise: This is a joke. Satire. Not Real… Bookmark It Hide...

PopCap Announces Bookworm Adventures 2

PopCap Announces Bookworm Adventures 2
Bookworm Adventures was the followup to the now classic hit casual word game, Bookworm. It basically took the original Bookworm formula & threw a dash of RPG in the mix. Your adventure with Lex the worm has you guiding him through various levels, battling enemies along the way. Your ‘weapon’ is your words, doing damage to your enemies by forming words in the classic Bookworm letter grid. The longer the word, the more damage you do.  You’ll also have various power-ups & other types of attacks to contend with. It was released for the PC back in 2006. Now, in a few weeks,...

Michael Jackson’s Hair Catches Fire

Michael Jackson’s Hair Catches Fire
This is from the 1984 shoot of a Pepsi commercial where Michael Jackson’s hair catches fire due to a pyrotechnics accident. I had seen some footage previously, but this is the first time I had seen this one. It shows exactly what happened & some of the damage dome to Jackson. Some say this is where his addiction to pain pills began. I wonder if this is where his addiction to plastic surgery began as well. Check it out below… Bookmark It Hide Sites

King Of Pop – Michael Jackson: Dead At 50

I was sitting here today doing my normal stuff when I decided I needed a haircut. So just as I was going to go downstairs, BNO tweeted that Michael Jackson was being rushed to the hospital in cardiac arrest. As a life long fan of his music (I won’t comment on his personal life), I was shocked & instantly glued to my seat. As I sat here, talking to my wife about his career & what impact his music made on me personally, I was constantly refreshing my screen to see what was going on. As each minute passed, small details would trickle in. They said he was in cardiac arrest. They said he wasn’t...

New Halloween 2 Trailer (& A Movie Poster)

To be honest, I wasn’t a fan of the first Zombie film. I found the changes actually took away from what made the original as good as it was. But, I still have high hopes for this one to redeem the franchise in my eyes. The trailer hit the net this morning, let me know what you think: Bookmark It Hide Sites
